Mango Tree Place (Penang Malaysia)

The sitting room of my suite.

I never ever ever spend a lot of money for a hotel. It is usually $10 or $15 for a night in a hostel with a private room. The room usually has no AC just a ceiling fan to keep me some what cool. I sweat and I am now use to it.

When looking for a hotel in Penang I went on a sight and found a nice place. The price given was really good so I booked it without thinking. I paid for it but when I got the receipt I found out the price given was PER NIGHT. It is only 100 US a night but still well over my budget. I tried to cancel the reservation but I would have lost my money since it was non-refundable. I was stuck so I went ahead with the reservation.

The place is gorgeous. It is a “boutique hotel.” The room is split in two with a sitting room and a bed area as well. There is even a private garden. Breakfast is included which is local food that tastes AMAZING. Breakfast is dumplings along with a noodle mix (fried noodles with egg, shrimp and soy sauce), Nan and fresh fruits. It also comes with a big bottle of fresh squeezed mango juice.

I am happy where I am staying and maybe it is clouding my judgment on the city. I love it here but a small part of me is ready to go back to HKG.
