David and Kate
I met David and Kate (Ka Tell in French) at the opening of a new Cinema Cafe here in Unawatuna SL tonight. They were showing some of their prized possessions some movie posters and advertisement which were shown on the screen.
We struck up a conversation about film which lasted for hours. It centered on Asian film a small passion I have.
They were in the film business. He was a Grip who handles the camera while she was an insurer for films. They met in university and fell in love. They have a 9 year old back home being looked after by their grandparents. They have traveled a lot of Asia but never to Hong Kong.
The cafe was opened by a french guy and his wife from the Ivory Coast. They have five kids and decided to open this here where they first met 20 years ago. Again love at first sight.
It is these moments that I love traveling.
