I feel like I’m a country gentleman in the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, where I’m staying. It has been in continuous use since 1889 when it was the hub of activity.

The rooms are wood paneled. The plates are bone china. The service is amazing. The rooms are rustic but in a comfortable way. It’s relaxing but I feel a bit guilty on my first day here since I spent most of my time here.

The area is surrounded by tea plantations started by Lipton. There are huge hills to climb. Today we will explore and I’m really looking forward to it.
