Arctic Wolves at Parc Omega

I had such a great weekend in Ottawa visiting my friends. It was a nice relaxing time talking, eating great food and reconnecting with old friends.

One of the things we did was to go to this park called Parc Omega, a kind of safari place where you drive around and animals would come up to the car and kind of asked to be fed. The park is about an hour away from Ottawa in rural Quebec. The only problem was entering the park, the 2 year old started screaming “Mommy, I’m scared” the other child wanted to feed the animals and my friend and I at the front couldn’t stop laughing. It was just an insane situation, though I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. We drove back to Ottawa, where I got to have an amazing dinner with my friend at a restaurant called Union Local 613 an American Southern (soul?) food place. The food was just incredible with corn bread, chicken fried chicken, fried green tomatoes and a whole host of goodness.

There was a bit of craziness in the family but I came away from the weekend with a deeper understanding of my friends family. A greater appreciation for what she (and her husband) do to make the family work. I also came away with a bit of envy for not having a family like that.
