The Help (2011)

This movie should win as many Oscar’s as possible. It is the best movie I have seen all year. The only bad thing is I watched it on the plane on a small screen and with bad sound. I wish I had seen it in the theatre.

It is the story of the black maids who worked in the south during beginning of the civil rights movement. The central character is a white woman who wants to write about the secret lives of these amazing women. It shows the interactions between the blacks and the whites or between the owners and the slaves of Jackson Mississippi. It also shows some of the social rules associated with being rich in the south at that time as well. The sad parts are how upset people can get over insignificant things which then in turn destroys people’s lives.  I wish I knew the actresses because they are phenomenal.

The writing of the movie is really good along with the images. I highly recommend this movie.
