Bubbly and Beach

The beach with Hong Kong in the background.

I went to Cheung Chau (長洲) Island yesterday with Louisa, a friend I met at Jen & Johnny’s wedding a year ago.  The island is a half hour fast ferry away from Central Station. It was spectacular.

We went to the quieter side of the island. There were about 30 people there and lots of space. The sand wasn’t white but it wasn’t big stones either. Louisa brought her daughter Anastasia. There was an Aussie named Keith McMullan, Louisa’s best friend Jerria, Terry and her son where there as well. Louisa’s maid made some amazing Pad Thai and we drank a few bottles of red wine and sparkling wine.

I talked a lot about whom I am and what I want to accomplish here in Hong Kong and such. I talked a lot about my experiences in Korea. They told me a lot about their experiences. All of them have been in Hong Kong for a long time. The children played in the water and I did the same.

The whole time I felt very relaxed and happy that I was here. The first two weeks in Hong Kong have been great. I start my work this week and I am looking forward to it.
